Our hands-on solar training labs cover the common steps of residential and small commercial grid-tied solar PV installations.

You will wire up inverters from a variety of manufacturers and mount solar panels on racking systems with roof penetrations and panel attachments. You will learn how to work with DC & AC disconnects and load center/service panels to tie in with the utility. We also demonstrate the connection of a live solar array feeding power into the grid. PV system financial estimation, return-on-investment, site evaluation, and system sizing/placement are taught using a combination of hands-on tools and Internet-based software applications.

Tuition includes instruction, materials, text book, examination fee, labs and daily catered lunch on all 6 days. Students who pass the certification exam on the last day are awarded the Boots Certified Solar PV Professional certification.

If you don't live near one of our campus locations (San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New Jersey) don't worry. Hundreds of students fly to our east & west coast locations every year using a subsidized travel package that includes hotel, free shuttle transportation, and breakfast & lunch on all training days.

San Francisco Bay Area classes are held in a 40,000 sq. foot, state-of-the-art training campus in sunny Fremont, CA (located just minutes from Silicon Valley and the San Jose International Airport). Services include:
